Scentsy

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, smelling the Holidays is almost as good as opening presents 😉 I know when about my Seasonal Scents (Winter Holiday or not) I think of Scentsy. If you’ve never heard of Scentsy, I worry that you might have been living under a rock since, oh I dunno, 2004. Scentsy is most famous for their wickless candles or as I know them “wax warmers” but they have come an amazingly long way to offer you a multitude of ways to enjoy their amazing variety of fragrances.

I received a few Scentsy items from my amazing Scentsy Consultant, Thea Wheeler. She’s prompt, always has a big selection on hand (like for last minute shoppers like me!) and did I mention she is just awesome to talk to! She’s super sweet and takes care of her customers- what more could I ask for!

The Scentsy Bar  was one of the first items available for purchase and I’m sure one that most people are familiar with. Scentsy Bars comes in more scents than I can even begin to tell you! With new scents being released and old ones being retired every season. If you’ve got a favorite scent combination, even if you think it’s an odd one- it probably exists. OR you can pop in wax pieces from two different wax bars and create your own concoction! With these waxes, the possibilities are endless and I always like to have several on hand!

One of the best things about the Holidays is all the Seasonal Scents. Vanilla, Berry, Cinnamon, Apple- they all just scream Holiday Cheer to me! With little ones, a giant candle burning for several hours isn’t always the best idea. An open flame is just too tempting to little fingers. That’s why I love Candle Warmers and Wax Melts! The biggest selection I’ve ever seen is at CandleWarmers.com.

The first thing I picked out was my scents. Apples & Spice and Merry Berry Plum! They almost sound good enough to eat! CandleWarmers.com carries over 40 varieties of Jamie Clair Wax Melts. Each is available in 2oz or 4oz size and are a great deal! These large ones retail for only $5.99

Each 4oz “block” is sectioned into 12 pieces and each piece last for a very long time! I’m only on my second piece. I keep my warmer on for just a few hours and the scent lingers all day. When I’m ready to switch to a new scent, I let the wax cool, then I just push on one side and “pop” the piece of wax out.

Now let’s get to the warmer. I wanted to do something festive, BUT I didn’t want to have to pack my warmer away after December 25th, so I went with snowflakes. This warmer illuminates and melts the scented wax at the same time. It uses an internal light bulb to melt the wax.

I also wanted to get a warmer that would go with my decor after the holidays, so I picked out this Vintage Turqoise one. This is one of their new designs and I have to say, it’s my favorite of the bunch! Malaboo Batter Bowl Set

I’m a sucker for kitchen items. I know I can’t be the only one, so whenever I got the chance to review a product from Reduce Base  Brands, I couldn’t help by pick their Melaboo Batter Bowl Set.

Reduce Base Brands features several lines of attractive and innovative eco-friendly products that are designed to help consumers “reduce” their carbon footprint. All their products adhere to strict quality standards and, as always, are BPA-free, lead-free, and user-friendly. The selection on their site is incredible. They had personal cups for every member of the family and many different handy kitchen items- like these batter/mixing bowls.

This set comes with three bowls a 3 quart, 2 quart & 1.5 quart- all in beautiful colors. Each bowl features a convenient pour spout. I’ve made pancake batter in these bowls several times and they are ideal for getting perfect pancakes and even filling cupcake pans- yes, these spouts are that exact! These bowls feel great in my hands and are very sturdy. I admit, I can be a bit of a butter finger and I’ve dropped each bowl at least one. Not a scratch on them.

The best part? These bowls are also made of Bamboo! Can you believe that? I would have guessed a high quality resin. BUT because they are made of Bamboo, they are biodegradable and sustainable and non-toxic. In addition, when you’re through with these beauties they will only take 18-months to break down in a land fill. How long does a resin bowl take? Forever. It will never break down in a landfill. Same with glass bowls.

GreenLeaf Gifts

I love gifting home items and at the top of that list is candles. Not just any candles, I want them to smell great, burn clean, look nice, come in a variety and if I’m really in the gifting mood, I want to have the option of purchasing smelly goodies for myself or my gift recipient. I get all of these things and more when I shop Green Leaf Gifts.

At Greenleaf Gifts, they make amazing home items in nearly 30 different scents. From sweet to earthy, they have a scent for everyone and in every form you can think of. From candles and sachets to room sprays and oils. Aside from the vast variety, their products are so well made and the fragrances are strong but never synthetic smelling. Their motto is “bring nature home” and I can certainly smell that in their products.

The first thing I pulled out of my package was this Merry Memories Tin Candle. Both the lid and the outside of the container are decorated with a “visual of the scent” and each scent’s design is unique. This wrapper reminds me of the Holidays and boy, let me tell you, the scent is spot on for the same thing. It’s a little bit of evergreen and holly berries and just the perfect bite of cinnamon. I’ll be honest and say I’ve saved this candle for the week of Christmas. It just makes me feel all warm & fuzzy inside, but I DID burn my other candle…

Which was in the scent Sugar Berry. If I could, my entire house would spell like Sugar Berry- all the time! It smells so nice and  even though it is sweet (hence, the sugar) it is not overly sweet like so many other brands I’ve tried before in the past. My husband does not like sweet smells and I’ve been able to burn this one so much that it is in fact, almost gone! There is no smoke and the candle burned down almost level the entire way. I also really loved the box this candle came in. It almost wouldn’t need to be wrapped if you were planning to gift it. The top lifts up and the candle is nested inside.

I also received scented Sachets in both Merry Memories and Sugar Berry. If you’re like me and have small kids, candles aren’t always an option. These large sachets fill a room easily without the worry of an open flame. The scents lasts for a lot longer than I anticipated. I’ve been using the several I have for nearly two months now and they still smell amazing.

If you aren’t looking to fill an entire room or you’ve got limited space to stash a sachet, they also make a small and a slim version, seen above. These are perfect for closets and dressers and they are a real steal! Not sure what you would do with scented sachets? How about 101 different uses? So, WHY am I so addicted?! Check out this haul!!I got all this (plus the t-shirt below) in a box that retails for $30 plus shipping ($7.95 to ship to me in Texas) and the retail on this box is insane! Not to mention, all of these are quirky, fun items that I would 100% purchase for myself and friends! I love the “odd-ball” style that comes along with Fancy Box. The Fancy is an online community that features products. It’s somewhat known as the “Pinterest of purchases”. You can search for items, by color, category, price, etc and when you find something you like, you “fancy” it. When you do that, the product is added to your Catalog which is a lot like a Pinterest “board”. Here’s My Catalog. The difference is that instead of wondering how to make or where to purchase items you see on Pinterest, you can click to purchase or go to an outside website to purchase EVERYTHING you see on The Fancy. Also, my choosing to “fancy” a product, you can earn budget that also include discounts to that specific brand. In my first 30 minutes on The Fancy, I earned 10-20% off of 6 different stores!

Even without their monthly box, The Fancy is an amazing website for people looking to purchase and gift the unique and interesting. I wonder how I got along so well without it 🙂

Like I mentioned above, you can purchase anything you see on The Fancy, but the true value really lies in their monthly box. I wanted to break down the price of what I received and you can decide for yourself!

When you sign up, you let them know all your “deets”. From shirt and shoe size to what type of products you’re looking for: gadgets, home, workspace and more. I chose home & gadgets and let them know I needed a size Large in shirts. The first thing I pulled out of my box was this shirt, it says “Party” and it has that soft, vintage feel to it. They got the size right and I can’t wait to wear this shirt (if my husband doesn’t take it from me!) This shirt is by After Hours Agenda and it retails for $20.

Next, I got this Starfield Simulation Light Kit. I wasn’t able to find this one on The Fancy, but I’ve seen these around and even seen a YouTube video on how to build this. These retail for about $15 and I have to say I love that this is a DIY. I enjoy putting things together with my husband, even when we disagree on the “right way” so we’re planning on making a date of putting this together 😉

Another home item I got was this “Cold Blooded” Vampire fang silicone ice tray. I have to say I’m not a big Vampire fan, but I happen to have a best friend who it 😉 These are well made ice trays and I know she’ll love it! This ice tray is by Doug, they make so many quality home items. I’m certainly looking forward to getting more as I continue my Fancy Box subscription. This tray sales for $7.99

Next, I got a pair of glasses from 80’s Purple. These are their Pizel sunglasses. If you can believe it, these babies retails for $12. They would make the most awesome stocking stuffer for any gamer. They come in 6 colors are feel so well made. they even come with a little pouch to store them in.

I also received the ultimate “man’s gift” of Whiskey Rocks by Sparq. This set of 9 Whsiket Rocks can also be used to cool tea, coffee or wine. (anything that you would want to cool but not water down with ice). I’ve never tried these before but I love the concept. These retail for $20.

My boys’ favorite item in the box, Mustache bandages. They thought these were hilarious. I agree, they’re pretty cute! Inside, we also got a tattoo of a boom box. (it was our FREE PRIZE INSIDE! Hehe) These retail for $10-$15. Which in my opinion is VERY high. I’ve seen novelty bandages sell for up to $4.99, but never 2-3 times that much. I’m going to call this a $5 value. It’s cute, but maybe The Fancy isn’t the place to buy these.

Perfect for the cold weather, I got these Snowglobe Salt & Pepper shakers. Little known fact, I LOVE salt and pepper shakers. I’m not sure where my fascination from them comes but I own 4 sets right now that I rotate out on my counter top. These will be a welcome addition! These retail for $15. I actually saw this same set at Target for about the same price. I was VERY happy to see these in my box!

The funniest thing I got in my box was this book “F in Exams”. This book is full of terrible Exam answers from all sorts of subjects. One of my favorite ones on the back cover. It reads, “What is the highest frequency that humans can hear?” the bad answer, Mariah Carey! Okay, it’s silly, but that’s why I love it! This book retails for $10.

Because I’m a girl, it goes without saying that I got some beauty items! I actually got TWO of these CH Nail polishes that glow in the dark! At first, I wasn’t sure if they did or not, so I put them under my UV Lamp for a few seconds and BAM, instant glow! On top of that, it glows an AMAZING jewel toned blue. I’ve never owned anything like it and I cannot wait to do a nail look for you all! These retail for $4.99 each, so this is a retail value of almost $10.

And last, but not least, I got a Blue UV lipstick. Now, this is 100% a novelty item, but I can’t help but love it! I’ve never gone to a blacklight event, but now I’m ready for the invite 😉 These retail for $35 for a set of 7, so we’ll call this $5.

Are you ready for this? My overall Total value, $120! That is insane! Fancy Box is certainly a value for the price and aside from that, it is SO, SO fun! I cannot wait to get my December box!! I think celebrities are always trying to branch out and try new thing.
Heck, if I were famous and had that much”pull” with people, I probably would to.
Jessica Alba launched The Honest Co. after becoming a Mother.
At the companies core is a promise to bring you products that are good for your home and children and free of all “the nasties” such as harsh chemicals, parabens, synthetic fragrances and more. They call this the Honestly Free Guarantee.

I personally have not heard a lot about this company- which is a bit of a shock considering I have 2 children in diapers!
I decided I wanted to give them a try after reading the Honestly Free Guarantee. Plus, their website looked adorable.

So, just a few days after I signed up for the trial, I got this cute little box in the mail. They shipped UPS & it got here FAST.

My first impression is that The Honest Co. really highlights the little things (and the little things that make a BIG difference, like what your products are made of) The box has cute letters inside and is full of products.

So, what I  actually received is  a trial package of their monthly subscription for two different “bundles” that they offer. Their Honest Diapers Bundle and Their Honest Essentials Bundle. I looked on their site because when looking at their price points, $35.95 for the Essentials bundle and $79.95 Diapers bundle- I just wanted to know how much I was getting. We go through Diapers like crazy. I ended up doing a google search an it was still not very easy to find. I hopes that information would be included in the Trial package that I got. No such luck. The papers just said things like “Based on average use” & well, my average use is double what everyone else would use. I eventually found a chart buried here in the FAQ so you can look up which diaper size you would potentially be using.

The first thing that I pulled out was a sample pack of 7 diapers. We haven’t gotten a chance to try them yet but they look adorable. I especially love the anchor ones. They feel like standard diapers (minus some terrible brands I’ve tried that felt plastic-y) and they seem flexible enough to feel comfortable on baby.

We also got a trial pack of 10 baby wipes. These are biodegradable and plant based. They smell really fresh and they are larger than the average wipe. So far I’m enjoying these. Outside of the bundle, a pack of 80 of these are $4.95 which is about normal for organic or all natural wipes.

Next was this box that was filled with the other samples, what they call the Family Essentials Bundle.

I got 5 trial/travel sized products. The two on the end are 2oz each and the 3 tubes are 1oz. I have yet to try all of these yet, but I will still give you a breakdown of what was included.

We got a sample of the Honest Laundry Detergent. This is enough for two loads and it says it is ideal for High Efficiency machines. This is natural and fragrance free.

This is the Honest Healing Balm, this is marketed as a diaper rash cream
but also as a fix all for razor burn, dry skin or even boo-boos.

We got a 1oz sample of the Honest Shampoo and Body Wash, this is meant for baby.
Tear free, nice scent. I am looking forward to trying this with the boys.

Also included was the Honest Face & Body lotion.
It looks and feels nice, I do wish there was an SPF in it since it is for your face, but I can’t win them all 😉

Lastly, is the Honest Hand Soap. This product I’ve used a few times since getting the box and I really like it. I have to wash my hands often from changing diapers and I like my hands to feel conditioned but not to perfumed most days. This is a good hand soap.

Overall, I was happy with the trial I got. I think that the diaper bundle, being just under $20 a week and meant to diaper one child is just out of our budget. We currently spend $22 every two weeks, that does not include wipes but it’s diapers for both our babes. I would be interested in continuing the Essentials Line. There are other items aside from these 5 to choose from. It is basically $40 for 5 items shipped and you can choose any 5 items you want. You can also change those 5 items from month to month by giving them a call. I would be interested in trying their sunscreen and bubble bath.

If you do decide to do the free trial, there are two things that you need to know- First, you have 7 days from the time you receive your sample package to either cancel or you will be billed and sent the first month’s bundles. Also, you have to cancel over the phone. I will be having to call and cancel the Diaper Bundle, so when I do that Monday- I will update and let you all know how that goes.
