If you can believe it, I got my AUGUST Glossybox in the month of August. If you’ve been following my blog, you know I’m at the end of my rope with Glossybox after being made to hunt them down for my box last month. It was quite an effort for something that was less than thrilling BUT I’m sticking with them. I am a bit of a positive thinking in that if things are complete and utter JUNK, they can only get better š So, I stuck it out (oh, well, yeah, I did get charged before receiving my July box so my options were a tad bit limited) and I’m not disappointed with this month š
I’ve learned that unfortunately you have to completely disregard the Glossy Mag. I would love to tell you that this box was full of AWESOME neons to accept your fall wardrobe, but sadly, no. It was just filled with more items to add to my ever growing list of “lemmings”. When will Glossybox learn that this type of “advertisement” only makes their box MORE of a bummer?
We got our standard pink box this month. (standard but VERY reusable. I’ve got a collection and I love how durable these boxes are) and the theme this month was Pure Luxury. I have to agree that the brands included ARE very luxurious, the products and a little so-so on the luxury level.
First on the list is a hair oil, Exquisite Oil by Biolage. This is suppose to replenish the look of your hair. Hair oils are big right now and with Fall and Winter on the way, I see myself using them more in the near future. This was the “cheapest” sample of the box with a value of $1.14…but um, does this look familiar to anyone?! Yes? Well it should because this was an Allure Magazine FREEBIE this month. I already have two of these bad boys.
First person to leave a comment that they would like to try this oil, WINS.
I will mail it out to you ASAP š
Congrats to Laura K.
Next was a full size product by Ellis Faas. I was VERY excited to see Ellis Faas in Glossybox, but I know a lot of people got brown and not everyone is in love with their colors- to those I say, I am SO SORRY. I think this packaging is adorable
I did get a brown like color but I would call this more of a orange/rust color. I got Creamy Lips and I have to say I adore the texture. It looks like a matte shade, but it wears like a dream. This color is called L105. I know that the colors featured in this Glossybox seem like they may be “rejects” and I can’t say I disagree. I feel that way a little about the next item as well, like I said, I’m a positive thinker so please don’t knock your color before you try it! Especially if you are fair skinned! My hunny actually really this color on me š This is a full sized product that retails for $35
So, the other “potentially a reject” product this month was a nail varnish from Illamasqua. Another thing to support that theory is that my cap was a bit crooked. It didn’t sit straight and well, that stinks. Now, this brand is high end and I’m a BIG fan, but I can see they might be willing to just give away brown polish called “Taint” and an off white color called “Load”…you might have to put your mind in the gutter for a minute, but um, yeah- I wouldn’t purchase those colors.
I happened to have on white polished tips so I wanted to show how “off white” this color is. This is a full size nail color and it retails for $14
Next was a product by Ole Henriksen- a brand I’d never heard of but am quickly beginning to like. This is their truth serum. It’s packed with vitamin C and is meant to help smooth out lines and wrinkles and boost collagen. I liked that this was meant for all skin types and I know not everyone is pumped about getting “anti-aging” products but I think a serum is something most of us can get behind š This is a great sample size at HALF the full size making this a “sample” value of $24- that’s what I’m talking about Glossybox!
The last product in my box is probably the one I’m most excited to try! Why? Because this Mommy (who is often crunched for time) loves multi-taskers š By Touch in Sol, this is an all-in-one moisturizer and makeup base. I’m not thrilled that the second ingredient is alcohol but with my oily complexion, it won’t dry me out. It also looks like this has some gold flecks in it- that can’t be a bad thing! This is almost a full sized product and it worth $18.76
Overall, this is the BEST Glossybox yet. It’sĀ certainly convinced me to stick around when I really needed it most! The value of this box is the biggest value I have EVER received in any monthly box- $92.90. Yes, you read that correctly. Frankly, I expect my Glossybox to have the largest value. Why? Because it costs the most of my beauty boxes, but I give them credit where credit is due and I have to say, this box was above and beyond my expectations.
I’m happy, Glossybox! Job well done š
